6 Things You Need to Know about Canada Express Entry

As the launching date of Canada’s much in talk Express Entry (EE) is approaching, discussions over it are reaching new heights. The new program will be launched in January 2015. It will handle the permanent residency process for migrants under the skilled workers category. Although, everyone concerned with Canada immigration seems to be talking about it for over a year, there still remain some essential points about the process that people are unaware of.

Here are 6 things about the Canada Express Entry program that you must know.

1. It will not be a First-in-First-out process

In Express Entry, all the applications will be ranked against each other before selection. Therefore, in Express Entry, unlike the current skilled-immigrants selection programs, instead of the first applicant, best applicant will get selected. Applicants with a job offer for a skilled position in Canada will most probable candidates to receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residency in Canada.

2. It will only be for skilled workers

Immigrants, considered as low wage/skilled workers under LMIA (Labor Market Impact Assessment), will not be able to apply under the Canada Express Entry program. However, if the position at which you work is considered as skilled position under Express Entry, such as food service supervisor or retail trade supervisor, etc. then you qualify for the program, in spite of being on low wage LMIA status.

3. The online profile should only be created after language and credential assessment

It is advised that applicants have their language and credential assessment certificates ready before creating their profile and entering the EE pool stage. After selection at the pool stage, applicants will get only 60 days to apply for PR and with their language and credential assessment certificates. Failing to provide these documents will result in applicant falling back to the pool stage.

4. Incomplete applications will get reject automatically

Previously, Canadian immigration department CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) used to allow applicants to update their PR (permanent residency) applications even after submission, in case they had provided insufficient details. However, with Express Entry in effect the applications will be filled electronically. And if during the evaluation something is found missing, the applicant will be moved back to the pool.

5. PNP applicants will be able to get PR in Canada through Express Entry

Applicants applying for PR in Canada under Provisional Nomination program (PNP) will be able to apply under Express Entry for quick approval. Currently, PNP applicants have to wait for 17 months for their PR approval, but under EE it will take only 6 months.

6. Selected candidates will be announced fortnightly

Every two weeks, applicants with most promising profiles will be sent the invitation to apply for PR in Canada, for which they will receive a time of 60 days, as mentioned earlier. Applicants who will not receive invitation to apply for PR within 12 months of entering the pool will have to re-apply.

Whenever something new is introduced, it is natural to have some confusion about it. But if you will keep these important points in mind, you will have less trouble in applying under Canada EE program.

How to Prepare for Your Visa Interview

Whether you want to work in USA, study in UK, or simply want to visit a foreign country that you have always admired; passing the visa interview with immigration authorities of the concerned country is essential to get through the immigration process and live your dreams.

Below are some tips that will guide you on how to prepare for visa interview to boost your chances of getting the desired visa.

Pre-Interview Preparations

Try to learn as much as possible about the visa of your interest and about the immigration system of the country you want to go. This will also help you in understanding the major concerns of immigration authorities, so that you can anticipate questions they might ask, and prepare accordingly.

Taking help of an immigration consultant is also a good decision in this context, since they know all the ins and outs of the immigration process and can coach you on what specific factors you need to take care of to prepare for the interview.

Also, be specific and clear about your purpose of visiting the country to keep immigration authorities from having any doubts about your application.

Document Preparation: To get through the immigration process successfully, it is important to show all the essential documents (which are asked for a particular visa) to immigration authorities during the interview.

Prepare you visa application properly by including all the essential documents such as family photographs, bank statements, property documents, income tax records and other documents that the website of concerned country’s immigration department mentions or your visa consultant has advised you to include.

In addition, never provide any fake information just to get through the immigration process faster or to become eligible for a particular visa. Detection of such acts can have serious consequences and you can even be banned for lifetime from applying for visa for that country.

This is one of the primary reasons to why you should thoroughly check the credentials of visa consultants if you have decided to opt for one. Unfortunately, many visa consultants provide illegal advice to make you believe that you can easily get through the immigration process.

At Go For Visa, we provide our customers only legal and valuable advice to help them in preparing for the visa interview. We make the immigration process easy for our customers, not by advising them to provide false information but by coaching them on how they can score better in skills assessment and improve their chances of getting the visa of their choice.

Tip on Passing the ‘Life in the UK’ Test

Before granting citizenship to immigrants, every country ensures that they have adequate knowledge about the country’s history, culture and native language. The UK is no exception. If you are applying for the UK citizenship or settlement in the UK, then you need to pass the UK citizenship test, known as the ‘Life in the UK’ test.

The math for the test is pretty straightforward. There will be 24 questions and you will be provided 45 minutes to answer them. You need to score at least 75%, i.e. 18 correct answers, in order to pass the test. That means, giving seven wrong answers will automatically result in failure. You can attempt the test as many times, but for every attempt you need to pay the test fee again. Also, each applicant will be given a unique set of questions.

Here are a few tips on how you can prepare well for the Life in the UK test and pass it in the first attempt.

Start Preparation from the Online Resources

The first think to look for here is the official handbook for the Life in the UK test, which is available on the UK immigration website. Secondly, visit www.theuktest.com and practice sample test papers. There are 48 question papers available on the website. If you score well in the practice tests, then consider yourself well prepared for the test, since in most people’s opinion the actual test is lot easier than the practice tests.

Manage Your Time

You will roughly get about 2 minutes for each question. The questions you know by sight will hardly take a few seconds to answer. Skip the questions you find tricky and return to them once you have attempted all the questions. This way, you will have a lot of time to analyze the difficult questions, and or course, a better chance to answer them correctly.

Check Your English Vocabulary

Some questions in the test require deep knowledge of English vocabulary. It is often seen that people provide wrong answers only because their English vocabulary is weak and they cannot understand the questions properly. Therefore, apart from learning about British tradition and culture, it is also necessary to improve your English vocabulary.

Take Your Time in Answering Question

As mentioned above, to answer some questions correctly you need to have good English vocabulary. Additionally, take your time to analyze a question properly before answering it. There may be questions that have more than one correct answer. Understanding the real implication of question will be all the more important in such cases.

Additionally, before scheduling your test, make sure you have understood the process correctly and have prepared for it properly. Although, you can attempt the test multiple times, but it is best to prepare well and pass it in the first attempt. Knowing about the test and how to attempt it can be of great aid while preparing for it. It will also give you the confidence to attempt the test correctly.

Three Ways to Get Work Permit in Denmark

As many industries in Denmark are facing shortage of local skilled workers, Denmark in past decade has emerged as the most active European Union nation hiring overseas skilled workers outside the European Economic Area (EEA). This immigration has not only given a boost to Danish economy, but it has also fulfilled the dreams of thousands of foreign nationals who want to work in Denmark. As Danish economy continues to thrive, more job opportunities for overseas skilled workers keep coming up in Denmark.
For citizens of countries outside the EEA, there are three ways to get a work permit for Denmark. Let’s go through them one by one.

Danish Green Card Scheme
The Danish Green Card scheme is undeniably the most popular of all; since it gives foreign nationals work and residence permit without a job offer. To become eligible under this category, applicants need to score a minimum of 100 points in a point based system that tests their eligibility on various factors, namely education, language skills, work experience, adaptability, and age.

The points are awarded in pretty straightforward manner. For instance, for higher qualification you receive more points, for more work experience you receive more points and so on. There is also scope for scoring some bonus points if you have received education from an internationally renowned university or have work experience in an occupation that lacks skilled professionals in Denmark.

The Danish Green Card gives you a work and residence permit of 18 months. During this period you can find a job in Denmark, and subsequently work and live here. You can also extend your stay in Denmark after you have commenced a job.

Positive List Scheme

As mentioned earlier, there are a number of occupations that lack skilled workers in Denmark. The Danish government maintains a list of these occupations, called the Positive List, which is revised annually. If you have a job offer for an occupation in Positive List from a Danish employer then you can immediately get work and residence permit of minimum 3 years in Denmark under the Positive List scheme. You can easily get a one year extension, as well as bring your dependent family members to Denmark on this visa. In addition, it also allows your partner to work full-time in Denmark.

Pay Limit Scheme

If you have a highly paid job offer in Denmark, irrespective of your occupation, then you can get a work and residence permit of minimum 3 years in Denmark. The minimum salary requirement under this category is DKK357,000 a year (approximately US$80,000). Like in Positive List Scheme, you can get one year extension under Pay Limit scheme. Also, you can bring your dependent family members to Denmark, and your partner can work full-time here.

Denmark is a beautiful country with an ideal work environment, which allows its inhabitants to live prosperously as well as succeed in life. Migrating to Denmark will not only help you in building your career, but will also allow you to lead a peaceful life.

Different Channels to Bring Your Family Members to Australia

Australia is multicultural community. Credit for this rich culturally diversity primarily goes to the welcoming immigration policy of the country. Additionally, ample job opportunities, world-class education system and high standard of living attract foreign nationals to the country. According to a recent survey, a good percentage of immigrants are leading a successful life in Australia. This gives immigrants another reason to move into Australia with their families on permanent basis.

The government of Australia provides a number of visas that allow immigrants, as well as native Australians, to bring their family members to live in Australia with them. For all these Australia visa categories, eligible family members, who are living in Australia lawfully for at least last two years, sponsor their close relatives to migrate to Australia. The government of Australia considers an Australian citizen, a permanent resident and an eligible New Zealand citizen to be a valid sponsor.

Here is an overview of each of the channels through which you can bring your family members to Australia.

Spouse/ Partner Visas

A Partner visa allows you to bring your spouse or refactor partner to Australia to live with you as a permanent resident of Australia. There are two streams under Partner visa depending upon whether your spouse or partner is in Australia or outside. Under both streams, your partner will be first granted a temporary Partner visa until the permanent Partner visa is decided

Child Visas

Eligible sponsors can bring their biological, step and adopted children, as well as orphan relatives to Australia through this channel. For each visa stream under this channel, the child must be below 18 years of age and unmarried.

Parent Visas

The government of Australia allows its citizens and permanent residents to bring their parents to Australia through different parent visas, namely Aged Parent Visa, Parent Visa and Contributory Parent Visa. Each visa stream has its own norms depending on the nature of immigration, which the sponsoring child and sponsored parent must meet.

Marriage Visa

The Prospective Marriage visa allows Australian citizens and permanent residents to bring their prospective spouse to Australia for marriage. This visa itself is not a permanent residency visa; however, after marriage the foreign spouse becomes eligible to apply for a Partner visa. Interestingly, under this visa it is not necessary to perform the wedding ceremony in Australia.

Relative Visas

Relative visas allow eligible sponsors to bring their aged, dependent relatives or only remaining near relatives to Australia. For each Relative visa, there is a separate stream depending upon whether the applicant relative is in Australia or outside.

For each of these channels, both sponsors and applicants have to show a number of documents in order to prove that they meet all the necessary visa requirements. At times, the immigration process can be intriguing and tedious. Therefore, it is necessary to keep everything in order to avoid any delays in visa processing. Hiring a registered Australia visa consultant to expedite the process can be extremely useful.

In the terms of guidance and timing, as per the normal information, but really can’t give you the exact guidance and also not the timing as it depends on CIC i.e. Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
