How to find Denmark Green Card Consultant in India?

In the past one decade, Denmark has emerged as a new immigration destination. In fact, Denmark now is known as the most active EU (European Union) nation in hiring foreign skilled workers. This is primarily because Denmark faces a shortage of skilled workers for a number of its industries. Therefore, Denmark offers a number of work permit visas.
  • Denmark Green Card Scheme
  • The Positive List Scheme
  • The Pay Limit Scheme
However, the popularity that Denmark today has got as an immigration destination is primarily because of its Green Card scheme, which allows foreign nationals to enter Denmark even without a job offer – and find a job after migrating here.

As Denmark is becoming a popular immigration destination, the need of visa consultants providing Denmark immigration services is increasing, especially in India where most consultancies primarily assist clients immigrating to the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other traditional immigration hubs. It’s not that finding Danish immigration consultants is difficult. Finding the one you can rely upon is the task that requires lots of research work.

Here are a few factors that you should consider and few tips that can come in handy while looking for a trustworthy Denmark immigration consultant.

Knowledge on Danish immigration Laws

It is essential that you check how much a consultant knows about the immigration laws in Denmark. Since Danish work visas are in high demand and not many consultants are there with sufficient Denmark immigration knowledge, many consultants claim to have Danish immigration expertise to make fast buck from the clients. Therefore, you need to be extra careful when hiring a Danish immigration consultant.

Under Danish immigration law, there are three routes by which foreign nationals can migrate to Denmark: Family sponsorship, Posted employees, and Employment based sponsorship. Check whether the consultant is able to explain to you all these routes, and associated norms. Additionally, he should be able to suggest to you the most suitable route for you based on your specific requirements. Another aspect to look out for is the consultant’s knowledge of the Danish immigration process.

Services Offered

Often the services offered by a consultant decide whether he is reliable or not. Ideally, consultants should help clients in understanding the different immigration categories, preparing visa applications, collecting documents, acting as their legal representative during the visa process, as well as providing assistance in getting clients settled in the foreign country.

While checking services, also make sure that your consultant isn’t charging you extra for anything. For instance, consultancies provide free assessment to check whether you are eligible to apply for a visa. If your consultant is asking you for additional fee for that, it’s better to opt out.
Knowledge on Danish Culture

A trustworthy consultant will not only assist you with the immigration process, but will also help you in understanding the Danish Culture. In Denmark’s case it is essential, since Scandinavian countries have a very different culture than most of western countries.

Use all the online and offline resources you can think of to ensure a consultant is reliable before you hire one.

All You Need to Know About Canada Investor Visa

Immigration Laws in Denmark

Denmark is constantly ranked among the world’s best performing economies. The country has a high GDP, which in turn makes life of its residents prosperous, as well as attracts people from around the world to migrate here. Apart from that, the beauty of this richest Scandinavian country also makes it a favorite destination for people who want to migrate to a foreign land.

Unlike other European Union (EU) countries, Denmark has a comparatively welcoming immigration policy. Citizens of European Union, European Economic Area (EEA) nations and Switzerland can migrate to Denmark, work and live here without a visa. Foreign nationals outside this region need to obtain work and residence permit to migrate to Denmark. Below are some routes through which foreign nationals outside EEA can migrate into Denmark, and the norms associated with them.

Family based sponsorship
As per the Danish Aliens Act, foreign nationals who have obtained permanent residence in Denmark can sponsor their family members for residence permit in Denmark. The Danish immigration service requires the sponsoring residents to submit the documents proving that they are related to the person whom they are sponsoring.

Posted Employees
Posted employees are those foreign nationals who have been expatriated by a foreign enterprise to Denmark on temporary basis. Posted employees are allowed to work in Denmark as per their enterprises’ terms of contract; however, they are required to follow certain Danish legislations as well. Additionally, migrants with posted employees’ status need to apply for residence permit like people on other migration status.

Employment based sponsorship

If an immigrant is employed in a full-time job in Denmark, he will be regarded as native Danish employee, and will be governed under all aspects mentioned in the mandatory Danish Employment laws. The government offers different work and residence permit visas for such immigrants. Here is a brief overview of these programs.

  • Danish Green Card scheme: Under this scheme, foreign nationals can apply for work and residence permit in Denmark, without a job offer from a Danish employer. Danish Green Card allows immigrants to stay in Denmark for up to 3 years and find work here. The visa process requires candidates to score a minimum 100 points in a point-based selection system based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language skills, etc.

  • Positive List scheme:  This visa is for those foreign nationals who have job offer from a Danish employer in an occupation that has a shortage of local skilled workers.

  • Pay Limit scheme: This visa allows those foreign nationals to have work and residence permit in Denmark who have a highly paid job offer from a Danish employer, irrespective of the occupation. To become eligible under this category, an applicant must have a job offer with a minimum annual income of DKK375,000.
Apart from these, some exemptions are there, which allow internationally known researchers, artists, government representatives, businesspersons, international sports persons, and other highly valued individuals to come and work in Denmark for up to three months without a work and residence permit.

Express Entry: A Step-by-Step Explanation on How It Will Work

Canada’s new Express Entry (EE) program is expected to bring more opportunities for skilled immigrants, as well as more possibilities for Canadian employers, and that too with fast visa processing. Under the new program, federal government, governments of provinces and territories, as well as employers will have a direct participation in deciding the economic immigration to Canada. The visa processing time under EE will be 6 months, which previously took around 12 to 14 months. Additionally, the process will no longer follow a first-in-first-out approach, but will select the best candidates.

The Express Entry program will primarily work in two steps. In first step, applicants will create an online profile, mentioning their details. In second step, they will be sent an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in Canada. However, lots of crucial activities are involved in these two steps. So, let’s break down these steps into more detailed steps.

Express Entry Online Profile
  • Applicants will submit their EE profile online with self-declared skills based on approved assessments.
  • They will be assessed on factors such as education, work experience, language ability and other factors that lead to a successful life in Canada. The assessment will be in the form of points in accordance of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
  • Applicants meeting eligibility criteria of one of the federal economic immigration programs (mentioned below) will be entered into the EE pool.
o  Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
o  Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
               o  Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
               o  Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)*
  • At this stage, applicants will be prompted to promote themselves on Canadian Job Bank to signal their presence to employers.
 * Candidates under PNP need not necessarily apply under the Express Entry program; however, it will expedite their visa processing, as mentioned above.

Invitation to Apply
  • The employers will have the choice to recruit candidates either directly from the Job Bank or after they have been selected through CRS assessment.
  • Once an applicant is recruited, he will be immediately sent an ITA to apply for permanent residency (PR) in Canada under one of the above mentioned federal economic immigration programs within a time frame of 60 days. Failure to do so will result in candidate falling back to the EE pool.
  • Applicants applying for a permanent residency visa in Canada will have to provide document proofs of all the information they have provided in their EE profile.
The Canada Express Entry program will certainly make the whole recruitment and immigration process much more efficient. It will make the process more transparent by involving province/territory governments, and employers in recruiting foreign skilled workers. This will also make it easier for employers to choose the candidates they find most suitable for the job they have to offer. And apart from making the immigration fast, it will also make it more efficient; since the most suitable candidates will be given the chance to have permanent residence in Canada.
